Students who have chosen to follow this course will start year 11 with a module entitled – "Better health for Individuals". This examines the meaning of health, the perceptions individuals have about health and the range of factors and behaviours that influence health.
The second compulsory unit students will follow is entitled "The body in Motion". This examines the scientific foundations of human movement. Students explore how the body moves and why it moves in particular ways and focus on the relationships between anatomy, physiology, fitness, biomechanics and efficient human movement.
Students will then be required to sit the RLSSA ‘Senior First Aid' course which will give the students valuable accreditation to put to use in the community.
The final unit will be entitled "Outdoor Recreation" which focuses on the development of skills, understanding and attitudes necessary for safe participation in outdoor recreation activities. There will be an opportunity for students to attend a 3 day outdoor recreation camp in term 4.
