Getting to and from school safely

As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.

Keep our school community safe by:

• driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school
• being a good role model
• never calling your child from across the road
• using the safest place to cross the road.

• always use pedestrian crossing
• no on-site parking for parents and students

For independent travellers

Talk safe travel with your high-school-aged child including:

• walking to school safely
• starting high school safely
• public transport safety
• 7 reasons to actively travel to and from school
• wearing a helmet
• skateboarding safely.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

• The  School Student Transport Scheme  provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
• The  School Drive Subsidy  may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.

School student transport scheme

The  School Student Transport Scheme  provides subsidised travel to and from school for eligible students on the train, bus, ferry and light rail services during the school term.

The scheme also offers subsidised travel to and from school in private vehicles in areas where there is no public transport available.

Assisted school travel program

The  assisted school travel program  helps eligible students with a disability to travel to and from school safely.

Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• ensure you park safely in school zones
• follow speed signs
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.

Parking on school grounds

In general there is no parking available on school grounds. Contact us if you have an urgent need.
