Welcome to the Westfields Sports High School website. Our school offers a dynamic, creative and supportive learning environment in which all students are encouraged, by a committed staff, to pursue personal excellence in academic pursuits, citizenship, sport, and the arts. Our extended educational community provides a caring and supportive environment, recognising and rewarding individual and cooperative achievement.
Westfields High was the first sports high school in Australia and continues to lead the way with innovative and highly developed sports programs. We are recognised around Australia and throughout the world, and have produced a large number of Australian sports representatives across a variety of sports. In 2017 we had seven ex-students playing for the Socceroos, four played for the Matildas and two for the Diamonds. Usman Khawaja played cricket for Australia and Israel Folau played in the Australian rugby union team. 27 ex-students are currently playing in Football Australia's A and W Leagues, and 17 former students played for various clubs in the National Rugby League competition. At the school level, 24 students were selected to represent Australia and were 83 selected to represent New South Wales in their chosen sports. Westfields won 15 state knockout competitions.
Westfields Sports also has a proud record of academic achievement. Our 2017 HSC results were exceptional. Our Dux achieved an ATAR of 97.55, and we achieved 55 Band 6 results. We also have extremely successful acceleration programs in mathematics and science for our talented academic students who sit their Higher School Certificate in either Year 10 or 11.
