Learning support

Supporting students' learning beyond the classroom.

Learning centre

The learning centre aims to facilitate and coordinate a whole school approach to improve the educational support offered to students in need. In every school there will be students who experience difficulties with learning.

These difficulties vary in cause, nature, intensity and/or duration. Student may experience difficulties because of the ways in which they learn, the rates in which they learn, or the acquisition of English as an additional language. We seek to identify these students, involve them in structured learning intervention programs and increase their knowledge and understanding of literacy and numeracy.

Specialist staff

The learning centre faculty consists of specialist teaching staff whose main focus is to assist students and cater to their individual learning needs.

Within our faculty, there are specialist teachers with knowledge in English, mathematics, PDHPE, science, school learning and support officers (SLSOs), community liaison officers (CLOs) and a school chaplain. Each member of our faculty brings with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that benefits the wellbeing and learning of the students we work with.
