The Westfields' Sports library is the learning centre of this unique school with its dual focus of providing each student with the opportunity to succeed academically as well as in sport.
The library staff are committed to assisting students and staff in achieving their information needs through the provision of the lastest in printed and digital media.

Library areas
- The multimedia room (E150) which has a projector and large screen suitable for showing videos and the internet.
- The class area (E151) which consists of tables and chairs providing space for a class to discuss a task and to access 6 computers for research.
- The reading area (E152) which has comfortable lounge chairs providing a great situation for silent reading, sharing literature or book talks.
- The computer area (E153) we have 38 computers in this area useful for students to access the internet for research.
Students have access to:
- 44 networked computers linked to the school intranet and the internet
- up-to-date book and periodical collection that supports the curriculum at Westfields
- an extensive fiction collection that enhances the literacy programmes
- printing and photocopying facilities
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) and Preliminary study guides
- professional staff able to assist students with their learning, information and technology queries
Staff and students are able to search Westfields library resources through the NSW DET portal website, using their DET login.
Students are encouraged to write book reviews of books they read and these can be presented at assemblies to encourage other students to read or used as reviews on the Library page on the website.
Mathletics, an online maths challenge program, is very popular at all times in the library. Students participate in a speed and accuracy test dealing with all aspects of mathematics.
All classroom teachers and coaching staff are encouraged to use the library and incorporate research and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills in lessons.
Senior Study
Senior study students are offered assistance with coursework during non-timetabled lesson times by supervising teachers. Many senior students stay and study in the library after their classes have finished each day where they have access to resources, computers and teaching staff.
Pathway students
Pathway students can use the library as a study area when they are not involved in normal lessons. This assists them to successfully combine their studies and sports commitments during their extended HSC years.
Homework
Homework is an acknowledged and necessary part of student life at Westfields Sports, expected to be planned, fairly issued and followed up.

3:15pm to 4:15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
