To qualify for enrolment at Westfields Sports High School a student must either live in the local drawing area or be selected on merit as a talented sports person. The criteria for selection on merit in the Talented Sports Program are:
• an outstanding sporting record or potential
• a sound academic record
• an excellent attitude towards school
• a sound student welfare record
All students seeking placement in a Talented Sports Program are required to obtain and Application Package directly from the school. A completed application form, reports from the past two years and the most recent NAPLAN results must be submitted to Westfields Sports before the closing date each year. The selection process will include a trial in nominated sport as well as examination of school reports and NAPLAN results. The aaceptance of a student into a Talented Sports Program is dependent upon satisfying both schooling and sporting criteria.
Successful applicants are required to pay an annual fee and be available to represent Westfields Sports in any Sydney South West, New South Wales Combined High Schools, New South Wales All Schools Carnival, game or competition for which she/he is selected. In order to be eligible for selection a student must be a member of the talented sport program they are seeking to represent.
As a high profile school, students may be interviewed and/or photographed by the media. Westfields Sports is proud of the achievements of their students. Frequently their achievements will be celebrated in print and electronic forms of publication. Parents are expected to grant approval for such media appearances.
A condition of "out-of-area" entry to Westfields Sports High School is membership of a Talented Sports Program. In the event that a student withdraws or is withdrawn from a Talented Sports Program, he/she will be expected to leave the school.
